Autumn
Many of the leaves are turning color and falling. Unfortunately, we forgot
the camera this week — but Sarah has bailed us out with this picture of
the maple tree in front of our house.

Nuts
The hickory nuts have been falling, and we seem to have a bumper crop. Last year we had none. (Hickories bear nuts every other year, but somehow our trees have fallen into an all-or-nothing rhythm.)
It is quite possible that we got carried away in gathering them. This picture looks like it came from a Sunset book for people with OCD.
