Bluebird of Happiness

Or maybe he is the bluebird of pensiveness?
welcome to the farm

We are away from the farm for Halloween, but here is Sarah in Central Park.

We had a rare sunny day on Sunday to see all the changing colors.
We had the Landsman Kill Trail Association’s Fall Hunter Pace.

And, some preparation for Halloween:

Jen made hickory nut pie(!), and pumpkin seeds.

We also had a nice walk.

Many of the leaves are turning color and falling. Unfortunately, we forgot
the camera this week — but Sarah has bailed us out with this picture of
the maple tree in front of our house.

The hickory nuts have been falling, and we seem to have a bumper crop. Last year we had none. (Hickories bear nuts every other year, but somehow our trees have fallen into an all-or-nothing rhythm.)
It is quite possible that we got carried away in gathering them. This picture looks like it came from a Sunset book for people with OCD.
